Civilian Volunteers with 4Corners K-9 Search and Rescue

K9 Haro and I volunteer in forensic search and recovery (HRD) with our team, 4Corners K9 Search & Rescue. Our team collaborates with Navajo Police and families to help find answers for the families of missing or murdered Indigenous people. It is a tremendous honor to be a part of this team and to do our best work for these families.

We train hard on our days off, but we also make time to be silly together. K9 Haro is all business on deployment, but when we’re home, he makes sure to lighten the mood of this heavy work with his antics: perfectly balancing his ball on my shoulder while I’m driving, giving his trademark hugs, or helping with ranch chores like bringing firewood indoors (in all seasons).

K9 Haro is a 4-year-old Belgian Malinois and is also known as #thegoodestlittlebrowndog, Caarl The Llama, and Stinky.
