Meet the Nomad Bottom Bucket™ - Rappelling Accessory

Recently, our team here at Ray Allen Manufacturing was approached by one of our loyal customers about finding a solution that would allow him to safely and comfortably rappel with his dog.

Whether you’ve rappelled with your dog or not, it’s obvious that this activity requires a high degree of planning and preparation to perform safely. It also demands the use of durable, high-quality equipment that can securely hold the weight of your dog.

As a solution to our customer’s needs, we took it upon ourselves to develop a brand new product: the Nomad Bottom Bucket™. Useful for lifting operations and rappelling, this addition to the Nomad I.H.S.™ provides support and comfort for your K9. Keep reading to get an overview of this new release, including its benefits and uses.

What is the Nomad I.H.S.™?

Before we get too deep into the weeds, it’s important to understand that the Nomad Bottom Bucket™ is part of our Nomad I.H.S.™ (Interchangeable Harness System™) line. This revolutionary modular tactical dog harness provides an array of functionalities within a single adaptable unit.

Developed by our team, this harness is a key component of our patent-pending modular product line, aimed at offering cost-effective versatility to K9 professionals. By eliminating the need for multiple single-use dog harnesses, the Nomad I.H.S. streamlines operations while ensuring top-notch performance.

There are a wide range of applications for the Nomad I.H.S. One example is using the Nomad Woobie Jacket™ with the I.H.S. to combat freezing temperatures by trapping your dog’s body heat using a Cordura nylon base with a warm fleece lining. Additionally, the Nomad Swiss Seat™ can be used to convert the Nomad I.H.S. into a dog rappelling harness.

What’s the Purpose of the Bottom Bucket?

Designed to be a must-have piece of equipment for your K9, the Nomad Bottom Bucket™ is an easy-to-attach pad that distributes your dog’s weight evenly when being lifted. This pad takes the load of your dog’s weight off the dog harness straps, making it far more comfortable for your K9.

The Bottom Bucket is simple to install and use. Its middle is made with mesh, which allows air to flow continuously to your dog’s stomach area. In addition to having the connections needed to secure the Bottom Bucket to your dog harness, there are added VELCRO® straps to keep the pad lined up properly.

Setting Up Your Bottom Bucket

Setting up your dog harness with the Bottom Bucket takes only a matter of seconds. Start by taking the bottom piece of your dog harness off, and lay it in the Bottom Bucket face up. You’ll then lay the dog harness on top of the Bottom Bucket and connect the VELCRO® across the width of the harness.

Next, slide the buckle straps through the corresponding retention straps on each side. Connect the harness to your chest piece through the slider, reconnect all four buckles, and the Bottom Bucket is installed.

And just like that, your Nomad Bottom Bucket™ is ready to be used!
