The Jaded Dog Trainer: The Internet Doesn't Make You Smarter!

If you’ve been keeping up with the latest Jaded Dog Trainer videos, you’ve probably seen the friendly argument between Matt Wilson from Ray Allen Manufacturing and The Jaded Dog Trainer discussing “new school” vs. “old school” dog trainers.
Matt and TJDT agree that dog training hasn’t changed that much throughout the years. But Matt’s main argument is that with access to all of the world’s information in one place and the ability to Facetime dog trainers across the globe, Millennial dog trainers are better equipped to train dogs than “old timers” who didn’t have these resources a few decades ago when they first started out in the field.
Well, in this week’s video, TJDT has a few thoughts on the internet and new-fangled technology in general. After all, he’s a grouchy old man!
He doesn’t agree that you can or should trust everything you read online. For example, he mentions that he just saw a Facebook post saying that Cattle Dogs are among the top five dog breeds (obviously, that’s subjective and unverifiable). And just because Matt can Facetime other professional K9 trainers, it’s not like old schoolers couldn’t just call another pro on the phone back in the day to get advice.
